In December 2017, the World Health Organization (WHO) expressed its support for the World Food Safety Day resolution adopted at the 40th session of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) conference in July 2017. After this the resolution was placed before the Second Committee of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, which was adopted by the General Assembly (UNGA) and on 20 December 2018, 7 June was declared as World Food Safety Day every year.WHO, jointly with the FAO, calls upon us to join this important day to ensure safe food for all on a global scale.
